Ghost Towns
Collaboration with Lawrence English
Ghost Towns explores the social, geographical and ecological histories resonating from abandoned towns and settlements located throughout Queensland. These once vital centers for Queensland agriculture, mining and country life have burnt bright and faded, but the physicality of their presence leaves a more permanent impact on the natural surroundings. The work is comprised of an album of field recordings released internationally through Room40 and video installation comprising a single and three screen version. Ghost Towns has been screened/ performed at Artspace; Auckland, Offsite; Tokyo, Happy; Wellington, Sitesight Festival; Japan, Kiss My After Effects; Melbourne, Literahaus; Copenhagen, The Apothecary; Adelaide, The Sonic Zoom Festival 2005 at Dreizehnwei Artspace; Vienna.
Funded by Arts Queensland.
